Bringing your cultural habits into another culture may be accepted if it’s a positive thing…or it may get this “sleepy” subway commuter slapped!
Adapting to Culture

“You must be shapeless, formless, like water. When you pour water in a cup, it becomes the cup. When you pour water in a bottle, it becomes the bottle. When you pour water in a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Water can drip and it can crash. Become like water my friend.”
― Bruce Lee
Adapting to culture is survival, whether it’s an organizational culture or national culture. And yet in the adaptation there is still power to be ourselves. Vessels may shape water, but water can eventually change the vessel.
Cultural adaptation can be complicated. It takes self-awareness of your own habits, and thoughtful study of others.
At Soft Power Skills Academy, I coach high-performance teams in an online, interactive workshop through meaningful, goal-related projects that put culturally-relevant principles into practice.
We’re a cost/time-effective alternative to MBA programs.
